Nu Quantum - quantum-based computing networks that transmits qubits between quantum servers at high-speeds, allowing them to scale and handle commercial-grade applications.

Monolithic scaling of the quantum computing architectures, as developed by IonQ, IBM, and Microsoft, will not be able to satisfy the commercial requirements for quantum computing. Last year, IBM took the record for the largest quantum computing system with a processor that contained 433 quantum bits, or qubits. However, it is broadly accepted in the industry that a quantum computer will require a million physical qubits to correct errors and achieve an advantage in solving problems worth solving.

It is unlikely that the million qubit threshold will be hit in a cost-effective way through scaling the size of today’s architectures. Instead, systems or chips must be connected together to form a larger, aggregated quantum computing system.

Nu Quantum’s is developing a new paradigm of interconnects to enable distributed quantum computing through a Quantum Networking Unit (QNU). This will allow the efficient scaling of discrete Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) to form a larger and more useful quantum computer. Nu Quantum’s technology is designed to be interoperable with different qubit modalities, and will accelerate the time to market of transformative quantum computing.
